Bhubaneswar, June 8 -- Several hostels inside Utkal University's Vani Vihar campus in Bhubaneswar, Odisha continue to face power outage two days after the Kalbaisakhi storm that struck the city on June 6. While water supply was restored in most hostels, many hostels did not have electricity supply restored.

The storm caused widespread damage inside the university, uprooting trees and damaging electric poles. In several places, fallen trees blocked roads and snapped power lines, affecting power supply to hostels and other parts of the campus.

The power supply disruption reportedly affected students staying in a number of boys' hostels, with some continuing to spend their nights without electricity.
