Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- The scheduled official visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Odisha has been cancelled. The development was confirmed on Thursday by Bargarh Member of Parliament (MP) Pradeep Purohit.

The Union Home Minister was scheduled to arrive in Odisha on July 3, for a two-day itinerary spanning multiple development projects.

During his stay in the region, the Home Minister was going to formally inaugurate a major ethanol project alongside several other state-level development initiatives on July 4 in Bargarh.

No official reason for the sudden cancellation of the ministerial visit was provided by the authorities at the time of reporting.
