Bhubaneswar, April 30 -- The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday introduced Forestry as an additional subject in the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) from June 2026 onwards. The decision was taken during the Commission's 597th meeting held on April 18, 2026, based on the recommendations of an expert committee.
The UGC-NET, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is held twice a year in June and December. With this addition, Forestry will now be included in the existing list of subjects for the examination.
