Bhubaneswar, May 17 -- Two women were killed and three others sustained critical injuries after a head-on collision between a pipe-laden trawler truck and a car near Rajamatu Chhak under Papadahandi block in Odisha's Nabarangpur district on Saturday night.

The accident took place near Pradhaniguda when the trawler truck, travelling from Nabarangpur towards Kalahandi, collided with a car returning to Visakhapatnam from Puri.

According to reports, the impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the deaths of two women travelling in the car. Three other occupants sustained critical injuries in the mishap.

The injured persons were immediately shifted to Papadahandi Medical for treatment.
