Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- A shocking incident of firing during a wedding procession left two people critically injured in Belapunji village under Athmallik police limits in Angul district.

According to initial reports, the groom's procession (baraat) had arrived at Belapunji village from the Manmunda area of Boudh district when the incident occurred. Amid the celebrations, gunshots were suddenly fired, triggering panic among attendees.

Two individuals sustained serious injuries in the firing. One person was shot in the leg, while another suffered bullet injuries to the hand, with each reportedly hit by two rounds. The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital in Boudh, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
