Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- Two persons were killed and three others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents reported on Wednesday under Koida police limits in Sundargarh district of Odisha.

The accidents occurred within hours of each other on National Highway-520, a busy mining corridor that witnesses heavy movement of Hyvas and mineral-laden vehicles every day.

In the first incident, a motorcycle collided head-on with a Hyva truck on NH-520. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the death of the motorcycle rider on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Sunil Kandulana, a resident of Jharkhand. Another person travelling on the bike sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
