Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- The bodies of nine fishermen have been recovered from a capsized fishing trawler in the Bay of Bengal, while search operations are continuing for six others, including three brothers from Odisha's Balasore district who remain missing. The bodies have been shifted to Kakdwip Hospital in West Bengal for post-mortem examination.

The fishermen had set out from Shankarpur Fishing Harbour in Purba Medinipur on July 2 for a hilsa fishing expedition. According to officials, the trawler remained in contact with the shore for the next two days before communication was suddenly lost, triggering a massive search operation by the Indian Coast Guard and other agencies.
