Bhubaneswar, Oct. 22 -- In a twist to the murder of traffic constable Subhamitra, Commissionerate Police unearthed on Wednesday a dark past linked to the accused Deepak Rout - now suspected of serial killings.

The police have revealed that Deepak did not just murder Subhamitra but was also involved in the killing of his first wife, Aparna Priyadarshini, back in March 2022.

Initially reported as a road accident near Radhakishorepur under Khuntuni police limits, the case has taken a disturbing turn after police reopened the investigation. New forensic and testimonial evidence has now confirmed it was not an accident but murder - and Deepak himself orchestrated it.
