India, Nov. 6 -- Poor visibility due to dense fog led to a road accident in Odisha's Sonepur district after a passenger bus operated by the state-run transport service rammed into a tractor carrying a paddy harvesting machine on Friday morning.

According to reports, the accident took place near Kulipali Chowk on National Highway 57 in the district. The passengers narrowly escaped a major mishap, although several sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Reportedly, the government bus was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Balangir when dense fog reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The bus hit the tractor carrying the paddy harvesting machine before veering off the road.
