Bhubaneswar, June 16 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) sought a detailed report in connection with the case involving Tikhiri sarpanch Chameli Ojha, taking cognisance of the matter and directing local authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry, on Tuesday.

The Commission has issued notices to the Kendrapara district administration, asking both the District Collector and Superintendent of Police to submit reports on the incident. The NHRC has emphasised the need for a fair and comprehensive investigation into the allegations and circumstances surrounding the case.
