Bhubaneswar, Oct. 4 -- Three tuskers were witnessed in villages in Boden block of Odisha's Nuapada district on Sunday. This prompted the Forest Department to step up monitoring and alert local residents.

The elephants were spotted near Bartansil, Mahul Pada and Jam villages. The areas fall under the Sinapali Forest Range, the movement of the herd caused concern among local residents. The Forest Department keeping a close watch on their movements.

As per reports, the three elephants travelled from Bolangir on Friday and entered various fields and farmlands in the area.

The same herd had earlier damaged trees at the Government Upper Primary School in Gharadhara village under Khariar block on Friday night.
