Bhubaneswar, Oct. 16 -- Three fruit shops were damaged as a major fire broke out at a fruit vending zone near Bijipur Pond in Berhampur in Odisha's Ganjam district at around 2 am on Friday. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to the Berhampur Fire Services Department.

According to reports, the fire affected three shops, including one owned by Pratap Sahu. Fire services personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident at around 2 am and launched firefighting operations.

Two fire tenders from the Berhampur Fire Station initially reached the site and brought the blaze under control by 3 am. However, another fire services team was called in to assist with the operation as the fire was intense.
