Bhubaneswar, March 16 -- A tragic road accident on Monday morning claimed the lives of three people near Uttara Chhak on the Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway, triggering concern over road safety on the busy stretch.
The incident occurred in front of KEC College, where a speeding car reportedly rammed into two women who were out for a morning walk.
According to reports, the car was travelling from Bhubaneswar towards Puri at a high speed when it hit the two women from behind. After the collision, the vehicle lost control and overturned by the roadside.
The impact of the crash threw the two women off the road, and both died on the spot.
The deceased women have been identified as Babilata Sahu and Dipanjali Rout.
