Guwahati came to a standstill on Sunday as thousands thronged the streets to pay their last respects to iconic singer Zubeen Garg, whose mortal remains were brought to the city in a 25-km-long procession from the airport to his Kahilipara residence.

The convoy, carrying Garg's body, took nearly five-and-a-half hours to cover the distance from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport as people lined the roads, showering flowers on the ambulance.
