Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram, regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, has landed in controversy after a complaint was filed against him in Lahore. The legendary left-armer, whose deadly swing bowling dominated world cricket in the 1990s, has been accused of promoting an online gambling and betting platform.

The application was lodged by a complainant named Muhammad Fiaz with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore. In his petition, Fiaz alleged that Akram has been serving as the brand ambassador of a foreign betting app called Baji.
