Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- A daylight burglary at Umerkote in Odisha's Nabarangpur district has once again brought the area's deteriorating law and order situation into focus. The incident occurred on Thursday at DNK Colony, where unidentified burglars broke into the residence of a schoolteacher while she was away.

The house belongs to Swarnakanti Mahapatra, who had gone out during the day. Taking advantage of the locked house, the burglars allegedly forced open the main door before entering the premises. They then broke open an almirah and fled with a tablet, two mobile phones and gold ornaments.
