Bhubaneswar, Oct. 4 -- Around six to seven hyva trucks loaded with sand were reportedly seen crossing the Udaipur border in Balasore from Odisha towards West Bengal on Saturday evening amid allegations of illegal sand transportation. Local residents alleged that several such vehicles were regularly being used to transport sand across the border.

According to reports, residents attempted to stop the sand-laden vehicles, but they allegedly crossed the border at high speed. Questions have been raised over the alleged open transportation of sand despite the presence of a police camp at the border.
