Bhubaneswar, March 27 -- Tension gripped Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district after a misconduct case triggered unrest in the Krushnanandapur police limits, where an accused was allegedly assaulted by a mob late on Thursday night.

According to sources, local police had reached the area to apprehend the accused in connection with an alleged misconduct case. However, as the police attempted to carry out the arrest, the situation escalated when a large number of residents, including both men and women, gathered near the accused's house.
