Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- A major theft at a temple created concern among the devotees in Rayagada district after some unidentified miscreants allegedly looted cash, silver ornaments, and temple property late last night from the Saileswar Temple located at Katlaguda under Rayagada police limits, sources said on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the incident took place late at night when the robbers allegedly broke open the locks of the Saileswar Temple and entered the premises. The accused targeted the Hundis (donation boxes) placed inside the temple complex and decamped with cash stored there.
Temple priests said the miscreants also broke open the donation boxes of Hanuman Temple and Sarala Temple situated within the temple premises. ...
