Bhubaneswar, April 28 -- A teacher engaged in census work died in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Sunday, with his family alleging that he succumbed to the intense heat prevailing in the region.

The deceased has been identified as Anurag Ekka, a teacher at Jarda High School under Gurundia block. He was undergoing treatment at the Sundargarh Government Hospital when he passed away.

Family members claimed that Ekka collapsed while performing census duty and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

His mother, Padmini Ekka, said, "He was posted in Jarada and had gone for census duty. He suddenly collapsed and was brought to the hospital. He was admitted to Sundargarh Government Hospital on Friday and died on Saturday. He had no illness. He...
