Bhubaneswar, March 29 -- An assistant teacher was booked on Saturday in Odisha's Nabarangpur district after allegations surfaced that he had been working for 27 years using forged academic certificates. The incident was reported from Kurshi Higher Secondary School under Umerkote block.

A complaint was lodged at Umerkote Police Station by the Block Education Officer against the teacher, identified as Sanadhar Majhi, following verification of his credentials.

According to the complaint, the accused worked for several years by submitting a fake Plus Two certificate. He had claimed to have passed the examination from the Board of Secondary Education in Karnataka.
