Bhubaneswar, June 7 -- A team of surgeons at AIIMSBhubaneswar has successfully removed a rare, 7kg plexiform neurofibroma from the left arm of a 47-year-old female labourer.

Hailing from Baripada in Mayurbhanj district, the patient had endured nearly 30 years of worsening pain and disability caused by the massive, pendulous growth. The swelling stretched from her mid-arm to the back of her hand, severely limiting shoulder movement, weakening hand function, darkening her skin, and causing pressure ulcers, as reported by the Times Of India.
