Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- Across India, the growing stray dog menace has become a major public concern. From residential colonies to village lanes, reports of dog attacks have increased sharply in recent years, creating fear among citizens, especially parents.
Small children, women and elderly people are often the most vulnerable, with many incidents involving dog bites, chasing and even fatal injuries. Government data recorded more than 3.7 million dog bite cases in India in 2024, while courts and civic bodies have repeatedly raised concerns over public safety.
