Snakebite victim's eyes give sight to two visually impaired persons in Odisha's Rayagada
Bhubaneswar, May 19 -- In a touching act of organ donation, the family of a woman who died following a snakebite in Odisha's Rayagada district donated her eyes. This gesture is expected to help restore vision to two visually impaired persons.
The deceased, identified as K. Padma of Gumuda under Ramanaguda block in Odisha, succumbed after suffering a snakebite. Honouring her lifelong commitment to helping others, family members consented to donate both her eyes after her death.
Following discussions with the family and completion of the post-mortem examination, the eye retrieval process was carried out successfully.
