Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- Royal Bengal tigress Zeenat is set to be freed from her radio collar in the coming months of October or November, Similipal Field Director Prakash Chandra Gogineni said.

As per reports, Zeenat has successfully established herself in the Similipal forest and has given birth to four cubs. With her movements now established in the forest, there is no longer a need for regular monitoring through the radio collar.

The collar will be removed without tranquilising the tigress. Officials will use remote technology to remove it from a distance, reportedly.

Zeenat and another tigress, Jamuna, were brought to Similipal National Park from the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra in 2024. Zeenat gave birth to four cub...
