Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- Tension erupted at New Bhuvan Chhak in Dhenkanal, Odisha over disputed land belonging to a Shiva temple. A group of villagers and a woman claiming ownership confronted each other during an attempt to remove an alleged encroachment.

The dispute involves Subhashree Mishra, wife of late Pradipta Kumar Mishra, and New Bhuvan residents. The Temple Committee claims the land belongs to the temple, while Mishra says her family has occupied it since 1947.

Around 15 days ago, an argument reportedly took place over construction near the temple boundary. The issue escalated when villagers and Committee members attempted to remove the alleged encroachment using a JCB.
