Shalimar special train extension boosts rail connectivity in Odisha, gets 6 stoppages
Bhubaneswar, July 3 -- The East Coast Railway has extended the services of the Shalimar-Charlapalli Special Train following sustained passenger demand. The weekly special, which connects Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal, will now continue operating through July under a revised schedule announced by the Railways.
The weekly special train, which was earlier scheduled to operate only until the end of June, will now continue its services through July, improving rail connectivity across four states.
Train No. 08045 Shalimar-Charlapalli Special will continue to run every Friday. Initially scheduled up to June 26, 2026, the train will now operate from July 3 to July 31, 2026.
