Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- In a major crackdown, police busted an alleged sex racket operating from the Sai Vihar area in Jatani and arrested seven persons, including two alleged kingpins, on Wednesday.

Police also rescued four young women during the raid conducted following specific intelligence inputs about suspicious activities in the area.

The two alleged masterminds of the racket have been identified as Prabhati Swain and D. Gouri. According to investigators, the duo had allegedly been running the illegal operation from Sai Vihar for a considerable period.

Police said the accused allegedly targeted young women from economically weaker sections who were searching for jobs and later lured them into the racket.
