Series of thefts in Ganjam leave locals in distress, burglars strike six houses in five days
Bhubaneswar, May 14 -- A burglary was reported from Dhanghar village under the K. Nuagaon police station limits in Odisha's Ganjam district on Thursday. Six incidents of theft were reported within the last five days.
As per reports, the burglars allegedly decamped with nearly 170 grams of gold ornaments, around 60 grams of silver and Rs 20,000 in cash from a house.
In another incident reported on Wednesday, miscreants entered the house of Giridhari Sahu through the backyard, broke open the lock and forced open an almirah while family members were asleep. Locals claimed that the repeated thefts have become an open challenge for police despite ongoing night patrolling in the area.
