Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- Odisha's growing semiconductor ecosystem is expected to generate more than 1,280 direct jobs through two projects approved under the Semicon India Programme.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada gave the information in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday in response to a question from BJP MP Sambit Patra, as reported by The New Indian Express.

Beyond the two projects, the Centre is also supporting institutions in Odisha to build a skilled workforce for the semiconductor and chip-design sector.

Under the Chip to Startup (C2S) programme, 13 institutions in Odisha are being supported to develop industry-ready manpower in chip design.
