Bhubaneswar, March 23 -- The WWF-India has named renowned sand artistSudarsan Pattnaik as one of the ambassadors marking the 20th anniversary of Earth Hour 2026, scheduled to be observed on March 28.

Pattnaik, who has taken on the role of Earth Hour legacy ambassador, said his artwork has always been a medium to spread awareness about protecting the planet. He added that he will create a special sand sculpture at Puri Beach on the eve of the event to encourage people to come together for environmental action.

He emphasised that Earth Hour goes beyond simply turning off lights, highlighting it as a collective movement aimed at building a sustainable future. He also urged people to actively participate and support the cause.
