India, July 31 -- The overall flood situation in Odisha's Bhadrak district has worsened following the rise in the water level of Salandi river once again. Moreover, a 35-ft breach has developed in the river near Rajmukundpur under Annapal panchayat, snapping the road link between two villages and leaving residents cut off.

At Rajghat, the Salandi is flowing at 18.50 feet, well above the danger mark of 17 feet, raising fresh concerns in low-lying areas.

Adding to the flood situation in the district, the rising water has also increased the levels of the Kansabans and Gamei rivers. In Basudevpur block, seven panchayats have been affected by the swelling rivers.
