Bhubaneswar, Oct. 20 -- Odisha Police arrested a 39-year-old man in Goa on Monday for allegedly cheating several women of Rs 1.19 crore by posing as a doctor and promising to marry them. The accused has been identified as Jinu Sahani, alias Rakesh Rajput.

As per reports, he allegedly used matrimonial websites, fake medical reports and WhatsApp video calls to gain the trust of women, particularly widows. He then reportedly convinced them and got the money from them.

According to police, a widow from Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district had created a profile on a matrimonial website to seek a second marriage. The accused contacted her on the platform and introduced himself as Sai Krupa Das from Bhubaneswar.
