Bhubaneswar, May 3 -- A contract worker died after falling from a height of 30 feet inside the Rourkela Steel Plant on Saturday, raising concerns over safety practices within the facility. The deceased has been identified as Prakash Swain.

Following the incident, the worker's body was shifted to the IG Hospital morgue. His family was reportedly on their way to the morgue at the time of reporting. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday.

As per reports, an internal investigating team of the plant initiated a probe into the incident. Such investigations are routinely carried out in cases of workplace accidents or deaths involving workers.
