Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- Tension gripped Sheetal Nagar under Bandhamunda police limits in Odisha's Rourkela after hundreds of tribal residents staged a protest against the proposed expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on Monday.

According to sources, RSP has acquired land at Sheetal Nagar as part of its expansion project. However, local tribal communities have strongly opposed the move, claiming that the land belongs to them and that they have traditional rights over it. Protesters gathered in large numbers and entered the area to voice their opposition to the acquisition.
