Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- A major theft has been reported at the Kamana Temple located at Chandan Bazar in Dhenkanal town of Odisha on late Monday night, triggering concern among local residents and devotees.

Miscreants allegedly broke open the main gate lock of the temple and decamped with gold ornaments belonging to the deity along with cash from the temple's donation box.

According to reports, the incident took place late last night when the robbers entered the temple premises after breaking the lock of the main entrance. The accused reportedly looted gold jewellery adorned on the deity and also broke open the hundi (donation box) before fleeing from the spot.
