Rising Baitarani floodwaters have forced the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres in Dhamnagar block of Bhadrak district. By 6 am Monday, the river was flowing at 18.86 metres at Akhuapada Anicut, well above the danger mark of 18.33 metres.
Responding to the situation, the District Collector ordered a two-day closure of all Anganwadi centres in Hasanabad and Arjunpur panchayats, along with 25 schools across Arjunpur, Hasanabad, Sohada, and Padhani panchayats.
