On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead by hanging in his Mumbai home. The death triggered investigations by multiple agencies including the Mumbai Police, CBI, ED and NCB amid allegations of abetment, financial fraud, and drug misuse. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau for allegedly procuring drugs in relation to the case. Rhea was in jail for 28 days, before the Bombay High Court granted her bail.
