Bhubaneswar, May 28 -- The impact of the recent Kalbaisakhi storms continue to disrupt normal life in Rourkela, Odisha where several areas of the steel city are still struggling with prolonged power cuts, damaged infrastructure and blocked roads days after the first spell of rain and storm.

The Kalbaisakhi rain that hit the city on May 25 had caused widespread damage in many parts of Rourkela. Even after several days, electricity supply has not been fully restored in multiple localities, leaving residents frustrated and anxious.

The situation worsened further after another spell of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed the city again on Friday evening, increasing the hardship for people already affected by the earlier storm.
