Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- The construction of chariots for the upcoming Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings at Jagannath Temple has gathered pace, with artisans intensifying efforts to meet timelines.
Work on the tumbas (wooden wheel components) for all three chariots has begun simultaneously. Maharana servitors are shaping large logs by carving central grooves and rounding them using traditional tools. Carpenters are cutting heavy timber with large saws to achieve the required dimensions for each component.
After marking circular measurements on the wooden blocks, the Maharana servitors have continued with the construction process. At the same time, Kamara servitors have started work at a temporary workshop near the Dola Vedi,...
