Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- Continuous rain and strong winds disrupted normal life in parts of southern Odisha after an uprooted tree blocked the Khallikote-Manapalli road in Ganjam and brought vehicular movement to a halt.

Several vehicles, including a 'Mukhyamantri Bus' travelling from Khallikote to Narayani was stranded on the blocked stretch. The bus left Khallikote in the morning and was scheduled to pass through Badhinuapalli, Kairasi, Bhikapada, Khojapalli and Badapalli panchayat headquarters before reaching Narayani.

According to reports, a tree fell across the road which completely obstructed traffic and left the bus and other vehicles stranded midway. Passengers travelling on the bus faced difficulties due to the disruption.
