Bhubaneswar, March 18 -- In a strong display of protest, hundreds of men and women staged an overnight dharna outside the District Collector's office on Tuesday, demanding the closure of a country liquor unit in Laikera Panchayat of Sundargarh district.

Despite heavy rainfall, the demonstrators remained firm in their demand and continued the agitation throughout the night.

According to reports, a large number of local residents participated in the protest, braving adverse weather conditions to make their voices heard. The agitators sat through the night, drenched in rain, but refused to withdraw from the site.

Their primary demand was the immediate shutdown of the country liquor unit, which they have been opposing for some time.
