Railway track sinks in Baripada! Several trains cancelled amid heavy rain
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 17 -- Train services were disrupted in Baripada on Monday after around 50 metres of railway track sank near Sungadia, near Baripada Station Market in Odisha's Mayurbhanj.
The incident affected train movement in the area. Several services originating from Baripada were cancelled following the incident.
According to reports, the railway track sank following incessant rainfall in the area. This caused the soil beneath the tracks to give way.
Among the cancelled services are the Bangriposi-Bhubaneswar Superfast and the Bhanjpur-Rupsa MEMU trains. The disruption affected rail connectivity from Baripada amid the ongoing spell of heavy rain.
