Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The Indian Railways has approved the deployment of Automatic Train Protection system 'Kavach' on a total of 631 route kilometres of East Coast Railway.

This 'Kavach' system for the East Coast Railway aims at enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

As per the Railway Ministry, the project covers six important railway sections of East Coast Railway:

Baghuapal-BudhapankHaridaspur-ParadeepKhurda Road-BalangirNaupada-GunupurLanjigarh Road-Junagarh Bobbili-Salur

The Ministry said that the installation of the system on these routes will help achieve a higher level of safety in train operations by providing automatic train protection and collision avoidance capabilities.
