Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- The world famous Rath Yatra in Puri is just weeks away, and the chariot workshop is buzzing with activity. Work on the three grand chariots is progressing steadily. Out of the 42 wheels required for all three chariots, 25 have already been completed. Artisans are also busy preparing ropes, axles, and the intricately designed side masks. Once the necessary axle wood arrives, work will resume to assemble the wheels with the axles, bringing the chariots closer to completion.

The Maharanas and Vishwakarmas (carpenters and artisans) are engaged in the construction of the wheels. On the other side, the muhandi (axle housing) and niradi (wheel rim) work is being done all around.
