Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- A woman sustained critical burn injuries after her husband allegedly poured petrol on her and set her on fire. The incident took place following a domestic dispute in Puri on Wednesday night under the Kumbharpada police station area.

The injured woman has been identified as Sarojini Mallik. She sustained serious burn injuries and was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for treatment. Police later detained her husband and were investigating the incident at the time of reporting.

According to police sources, the domestic dispute reportedly arose over financial matters. Sarojini's husband is reportedly addicted to drugs, he allegedly set her on fire during the dispute over money.
