Bhubaneswar, April 12 -- Concerns have been raised over reported plans by ISKCON to organise nearly 80 untimely Rath Yatras at various locations worldwide by December, triggering a debate over adherence to traditional rituals associated with Lord Jagannath.
The issue came to the forefront during a Coordination Committee meeting held at the Srimandir main office, where discussions focused on the observance of Jagannath festivals in India and abroad.
Sources indicated that, in addition to the Rath Yatras, around 10 untimely Snana Yatras are also planned globally. While ISKCON has reportedly refrained from conducting such untimely rituals within India since 2025, the proposed events overseas have drawn significant attention.
