Bhubaneswar, May 5 -- Residents staged a road blockade on the Dharamgarh-Sinapali main road near Podapada in Kalahandi district on Tuesday, protesting against the lack of drinking water supply in their village. The protest led to disruption in traffic movement along the route.
Villagers placed pots and buckets on the road as part of the blockade, highlighting their long-pending demand for access to safe drinking water. According to reprots, pipelines were already laid to supply water through an overhead tank, but the system was not made functional.
They alleged that despite raising repeated complaints with the authorities, no resolution was provided.
