Power supply disrupted in Sundargarh after grid tower wire snaps during heavy rain
Bhubaneswar, May 17 -- Electricity supply remained disrupted in parts of Odisha's Sundargarh on Sunday after a grid tower transmission wire reportedly snapped and fell into the Brahmani river amid heavy rain, thunder and lightning in the Bonai area.
The incident occurred on Saturday night following intense rainfall and strong winds that also led to waterlogging in several areas of Bonai.
According to officials, the main grid tower wire passing over the Brahmani river from Tumkela snapped during the adverse weather conditions, resulting in disruption of electricity supply from around 12 midnight onwards.
Residents in different parts of Bonai reportedly faced inconvenience after power supply was affected overnight.
