Bhubaneswar, Aug. 27 -- Flood-hit residents in several parts of Odisha are facing a growing threat from snakes, with reptiles entering homes and other places in search of dry shelter as floodwaters inundate their natural habitats.

According to reports, a five-foot-long cobra was rescued from the thatched roof of a house in a village in Binjharpur area of Jajpur district. The snake had reportedly entered the house after the floodwater affected the area. Residents noticed the cobra and alerted the snake rescue team.

Similarly, a cobra was found hiding near the leg of an almirah at the house of Sanjib Lenka in Kamalpur village under Dasarathpur area. The family reportedly noticed the snake and sought help after finding it inside the house....
